Sit on bar stools and sip cocktails or chat whilst others cook and wash up. The Kitchen is a huge and beautiful space flanked by a large window that looks over the courtyard garden. Modern elements sit alongside the property’s history as a shop, with the old safe set in the tongue and groove walls.

Spot the old Georgian panelled door to the Snooker room which was discovered on the very first day of renovations

Dining Room

From the original Victorian tiled hallway enter what was the old shop originally owned by the Rose family in the 1700’s. The huge curved bay window is now set as a centrepiece with a lounging seat that mirrors the long dining room table, that seats up to 16 guests.

Made for dinner parties this room opens up to the Kitchen at the rear.

This room is always filled with laughter  and activity as all generation gather for everything from big breakfasts before adventure planning to raucous evenings and celebrations.

Remember what happens in the old shop stays in the old shop!

Snooker Room

With it’s contemporary snooker table and dart board the Snug is popular with its after dinner competitors whilst others toast their toes by the fire or take a snooze.

The house if full of the history of it’s previous inhabitants and in this room you can spot an engraving on the window from 1711.

Lounge

A room of grand proportions, sink into the huge velvet green sofas that consume the room and make most feel like Tom Thumb on holiday. A place to relax after a tough day of enjoyment and a good meal, where you can take a snooze in front of our fabulous contemporary woodburner set into the original Victorian fireplace.

Boat House Cinema Room

Leave the Dining Room and head down the double height double stairs hallway passing the little reading nook along the way to find the Boathouse Cinema Room.

The previous owner told us that he remembers the floor of this room being carved to the shape of a boat hull when he moved in as a child. The yard outside and buildings all being part of the boat building community in it’s past.

The boat builders would never have guessed their boat house would now be a cinema room! With the original roof timbers as part of the ceiling making it a truly cosy space. Ready yourself with popcorn on the vintage yellow sofas, because tonight is movie night at Chancery House.

Archive Master Front Bedroom

This bedroom of grand proportions would have most definitely been one of the most important rooms in Chancery House. With servant bells either side of the beautiful marble fireplace with its bright green hearth this room is a seaside breath of fresh air.

With pink deck chair stripe curtains and driftwood coloured furniture you would be forgiven for taking a long lie in on our sumptuous King Size upholstered bed, before heading off to the beach even on the sunniest of days.

Find your adjoining bathroom just for this room, with huge shower across the landing.

Templeton Pink Master Bedroom

Master of the house, this elegant room and shower ensuite has window seats that invite you to sit a while and gaze over cobbled walls and roof tops toward the Buttlands as if in a Jane Austen novel.

With Templeton Pink walls and ripple Hayday  furniture from Loaf alongside another luxury upholstered Super King bed, guests will feel like the Lord and Lady of the manor staying in this room.

No fighting just come back for another stay and take turns!

India Yellow Bedroom

Down a small flight of steps from the main landing this bedroom with its original panelling is a cosy retreat and wraps you in sunshine warmth with its India Yellow walls.

A little window seat to the front High Street is a quiet place to gaze over roof tops like Mary Poppins and watch the world go by.

Snuggle in our stripey upholstered King Size bed and watch TV.

Don’t forget to take a soak in our large tub in the adjoining bathroom.

Boathouse Loft Bedroom

This King Size Bedroom with shower/bath ensuite is a fun and quiet space away from other bedrooms via a separate staircase. With wardrobes built into the eaves and windows either side of the room it is both bright and airy in the day and cosy at night.

The open eaves were the site of a welcome surprise during restorations when they revealed a treasure trove of the former owners collection of art and paper.

Hidden were three oil paintings of nudes that are now found dotted around the house whilst art papers were used to create the huge collection of Poppy and Iris paintings by Alice Stoner.

India Yellow Large Attic

Up Up Up. Tuck yourself away at the top of the house!

This warm yellow cocoon of a room hosts either two singles or a Super King bed via zip and link.

With it’s own shower ensuite this cosy nest is the perfect hideaway for kids, teenagers or adults who want to squirrel away and take a cheeky afternoon nap or avoid helping cook dinner.

With beautiful soft furnishings and furniture this room is well worth the climb.

India Yellow Small Attic

Although named the Small Attic this room is far from small. In fact it is cosy in decor but large in space, (it just shares a bathroom downstairs, hence smaller than its bigger twin the other side of the house.)

With two singles or a Super King bed via zip and link mattresses it is reached via its own staircase.

Save this room for those who sleep well and don’t rise in the night for a toilet break as they will be sharing the bathroom on the lower landing.
